HOW IS THE VIRUS SPREAD?
"The virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly from person to person, mainly through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Spread is more likely when people are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet)." CDC (Centres for Disease Control)
HOW LONG DOES THE VIRUS LAST ON SURFACES?
Studies reveal that human coronaviruses such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) coronavirus, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus or endemic human coronaviruses (HCoV) can persist on inanimate surfaces like metal, glass or plastic for up to 9 days. Therefor the likelihood is that HCoV2 (COVID-19) will last for 9 days on these inanimate surfaces also.
